The 2025 Conference of The Society for the Study of Ethnic Relations and International Migration (ETMU) program has been published and can be found here!
The Conference takes place at the University of Helsinki, Finland, on 13-14 November 2025.
This year’s conference theme is ‘Breaking (digital) barriers: Designing and conceptualizing technologies of inclusive societies’.
- Registration for the conference is open until Monday 13 October.
The program includes our two-part work session ‘Visualizing Invisible Barriers: Cartographies of Everyday Coexistence‘, which we will host together with dr. Liina Mustonen from University of Helsinki.
- On the first conference day, we will have a panel session of four presentations.
- On the second day, we will be hosting a workshop on visual language (understanding mechanisms for representing realities through drawing), which will be facilitated by visual storyteller and artist Yorgos Konstantinou of Imagistan. The workshop is funded by Kone Foundation / Koneen Säätiö as part of the project Homeward: exploring co-creation practices towards integration
Hope to see many of you there!
